Introducing Invisible Blue, a force in creative and technical production. With over 20 years of expertise, they stand at the forefront of crafting unforgettable spectacles for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and any celebration in between. As a leading creative and technical production company, they have lent their expertise to some of the most breathtaking events at home and abroad. As we’ve witnessed first hand, their commitment to excellence is evident in every detail, from meticulous planning to flawless execution by their skilled and friendly team.

Describe who you are as a company and why you love doing what you do?

Invisible Blue is an event production company specialising in set design. We focus on scenic interiors; technical lighting and AV support on widely varied and fast-paced projects.

Whether it be a wedding, product launch or corporate occasion - We love creating imaginative creative settings, nurturing each project and seeing each varied idea become reality.

What sets you apart from other production companies?

We primarily focus on the scenic design side of production at our London based workshop. This allows us to produce bespoke visions in-house, as well as holding customisable stock items that can be adapted to our clients’ needs.

Each of our Project Managers are trained in artistic design from architectural theatre to commercial retail. There is unmatched value within the diverse disciplines and broad pool of talent within design and fabrication techniques here at Invisible Blue.

What are your top tips for choosing the right lighting?

Lighting is atmosphere and vibrancy. It is so integral to each and every look we create for our clients.

We encourage clients to retain depth within lighting schemes and to utilise built-in lighting within set pieces, it highlights aspects of the design, bringing the scenery to life.

What’s been your most memorable event working with us to date?

We worked with Lucy Vail Floristry on a wonderful wedding at Wadham College Oxford for Albion Parties. Working on this quirky design with Lucy’s team was a dream! There was a strong sense of vision and direction towards the end goal. Alongside a great planner and many other fantastic suppliers, the wedding became something really memorable and special.

As leaders in your area, no doubt you have an eye on the trends for this year. What would you, personally, like to see more of? Do you have that one idea that you are desperate for a client to ask you to do?

This summer we have been inundated with requests for trellis, it’s definitely going to feature strongly across a number of weddings and will be all over Instagram in the next few months.

Looking forward we think we are going to see a simpler and cleaner aesthetic emerge, draping will be clean and beautifully finished, textures will feature really strongly across all finishes, pattern will still be a big influence but less clashing and more refined.  The real thing to watch is going to be the explosion in AI generated images which is going to push us into more complex and sculptural shapes.

At LVF we are passionate about sustainability. Our industry is not renowned for this, for the climate conscious party thrower, what are some of the most forward thinking and innovative solutions to keep your waste low?

Here at Invisible Blue we try to reinvent as much as possible, elements from one set build will evolve into components of another, with updated finishes and design extending the life of bespoke build pieces.

Much of our scenery is given to smaller theatre groups, colleges etc who don’t have the budget or resources to build their own. In the workshop we regularly donate used materials to various London art colleges, filling their stock rooms with fabrics, wood off cuts, laminates and acrylic expanding student recourses with fun and unusual project materials.

Is there are project that you’re working on at the moment that makes you really excited for 2024.

2024 is shaping up to be a busy one, so, whether it be here in the UK, or across Europe, we are starting to see trends take a step back where people have stronger visions and more personality come into their weddings, parties and events. Each and every one is hugely exciting, with endless possibilities…
